Be a Germ Buster

Review and model basic hygiene and healthy lifestyle practices for protection

Wash hands multiple times a day for at least 20 seconds

Use alcohol based hand cleaners when soap and water not available

Cover mouth/nose with tissue when coughing or sneezing and throw tissue away.  If tissue is not available cough/sneeze into bend of elbow.  Wash hands after discarding tissue

Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth as germs spread easily this way

Stay home when you are sick (work, school, and running errands)

If you take your child to the doctor and they receive a diagnosis of strep, flu, COVID-19, etc. please don’t take them out to eat or grocery shopping when you leave the doctor’s office.  Have someone pick up your needed items.  Choose the drive thru window for food pickup or prescription pickup

Encourage your child to hydrate during periods of illness with fever

Eating a balanced diet, getting a good amount of sleep, and exercising regularly helps your child develop a strong immune system to fight off illness
