Non Screen Ideas

Writing Ideas  

-Write your sight words

-Write the alphabet in uppercase or lowercase letters. Use fun things to write with like shaving cream, sand, chalk, dry erase markers, or make letters out of playdough. 

-Draw a picture and label it or write a sentence about it

-Have someone give you a 3-4 letter word to write  

-Write a letter to someone

-Write a sentence about your day

Reading Ideas 

-Try to read for 20 minutes per day. 

-Be creative! Take turns reading out loud and make fun voices for the characters. 

-Read to a parent, sibling, pet, stuffed animal, or FaceTime someone and read to them!

-Read directions to bake/cook something with your parents

-Practice sight word flashcards.

Math Ideas 

-Practice counting items around your home. 

-Play “store” to count money. 

-Describe a coin and have your child pick the correct one. 

-Sort items by size, shape, or color. 

-Make a pattern with items or colors.

-Write numbers 1-20 using something fun like chalk, paint, markers, sand, shaving cream 

-Find things around the house to measure. If you don’t have a ruler use something like your hands or feet or something else non-standard to measure length.

-Use measuring cups to help bake something yummy!

Play outside and enjoy some family time! 

-Play board games or build with Legos 

-Ride your bike or take a walk

-Go hiking with your family

-Dance to your favorite songs!
